There, you didn't lie. I have no problem with the statement above, because it is the truth.

/One thing the LSAT is good for- developing the ability to mislead without lying.

Do not lie. If they ask where the offer is from, you're screwed. If they say , sorry we can't move any faster but do what is best for you, you're screwed. Or they could always just say we were going to ding you anyway.
If they hire you and find out you lied to them, you're screwed.
So how does lying help you?

Don't think for a minute that partners and associates at firms won't check with their colleagues at other firms to see if you had an offer - so don't lie.
