The mechanics of this probably vary from firm to firm, but generally profit sharing is a bonus that is contingent on firm performance. It's usually less discretionary than what is typical referred to as a bonus though, because it is determined formulaicly.

is ever a good idea to partake in this? Is it usually more or less than cravath model bonus for a healthy firm?
