Public Integrty/Corruption

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Oct 19, 2011 3:40 pm

I think want to go this route, or at least explore it. Has anyone ever worked/interned/externed/paralegaled in one of these units, either in an ADA or AG's office, or at DOJ? If so, please tell me about your experience. On a continuum from Tamany Hall to Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, how impartial do you think your cases were? Is this considered a cushy office that requires earning one's stripes first in something like Narcotics or General Criminal? FWIW, I'm a 1L at Columbia.

I've worked in the inward facing version of these units (think OIGs) and from what I understand, it generally requires you to earn your stripes in the field.

Also, if you go into this field you'll have the added satisfaction that you put the "i" in Public Integrity.
