How is the job hunt going for people at TT, TTT, TTTTs?

Curious as to how things are going outside the T-14.

I think the job hiring cycle is geared toward post-graduation job hunting at these schools. I could be wrong.

Yarp. That is even the case at my T1. Judging from the other thread, seems like 30-50% of T14 grads are in the same boat.

I think that this reflects the "doom and gloom" mentality of TLS, specifically with respect to t14 schools. I strongly doubt that 30-50% of t14 grads are in this position.

Here's an interesting idea: maybe try to work and get experience in the real world before law school and build connections that will lead to future job(s) regardless of where you end up going?

This seems like far too big an overstatement. I don't know about the lower T14, but at my T6, i very rarely come across someone still searching with nothing in hand, and those who are still looking still have some halfway-promising leads.

I have no first hand knowledge. I am attending a lower T1. There is a UPenn student in another employment thread saying that only 70% of 3Ls are employed, and others from other T14s have chimed in to say that number is much higher than their schools.

pretty irrelevant suggestion for most of the people likely to be reading that.

I know multiple people who were Top 30% with a secondary journal at my T2 who literally had NOTHING lined up. One went to work retail while applying and the other started mass mailing PD offices in random parts of the country.

With that said I strongly doubt that 40-50% of t14 grads are still looking.

I'm a 2L at a TT. OCI was sort of a joke- maybe 25 firms came to campus and most were midsized/small firms looking for 1-3 SAs. A couple of people got offers.

Yeah, 40-50% seems high for UVA. I'm a 3L and 10-15% of my section seems to still be looking, although that may include people who have SOMETHING lined up but it's really not what they wanted.

It wasn't a suggestion really, just a "hey, what did you expect?" kinda thing. I get fed up with people that think that a JD miraculously changes the rules of the working world where experience and results trump most fancy degrees. I'm sorry but honestly, people need to stop telling kids that the key to a good job is having the best numbers. /tirade

Source: kid who graduated in 2009 and has worked as a paralegal at NYC big law firms that have told me to come back when I'm a 2L to talk to them.

I am top 20% at Hastings and I don't have anything on the horizon. Seems pretty common here. I am waiting for graduation to really pick up the small firm job hunt. Small firms don't hire 6+ months in advance so there's not much point in stressing out right now.

Philly T2, top 15%, moot court, with 2 V50 and 2 V100 offers. Below top 25% is not pretty, but not terrible.

Top 13-17% at Villanova and I have nothing right now (2L). Had 14 screeners, 2 cbs, rejected from one, waiting on the other. Had 2 other screeners with no response yet. Thankfully a few spots I mass mailed liked my stats and want me to reapply as a 3L since they slashed their SA program (mostly midlaw firms paying 90-110k). Just missing law review will forever haunt me.

Have a feeling there is some x-factor soft explaining this, IP or significant WE? Alternatively, I could just suck as a person.

Me too. I'm gonna start flooding Philly firms with apps. Seems like UPenn and Philly T2 students are doing better than average.

I'm a 3L at a T14 and I'd say about 1 in 3 of the other 3Ls are looking for something. Between people who didn't get offers and people who wanted PI to begin with it's nit a great situation.
