Does the location of the office affect prestige?

what kind of question is this... this is what vault rankings are for...and yes, some firms will be much more prestigious in certain areas. e.g jones day is a lot more prestigious in Ohio than in NY.

My understanding is that office location affects the content of the work, which affects the prestige. So DC is considered more prestigious for some because it handles almost all of the appellate work, etc..

ETA: Why not list the office locations (where applicable) you are considering?

I laughed at how unabashedly prestige whorish this thread was.

I appreciate the honesty.

Btw, Davis Polk is the only acceptable answer here.

Are the "white shoe" firms the most prestigious by default?

Don't they only measure prestige?

Outside of the rankings of "best law firm to Work For"...or "Best SA Program" and all that shit...

I can't believe Davis Polk is beating White and Case in this poll. What is wrong with you people?

... Are you being serious? W&C is TTT compared to DPW.

This poll is also silly without markets/your interest. I assume you mean all NYC - if Cov is DC, then they're about as prestigious as DPW and much better in certain areas. If you want to do lit, K, Q or DPW would be fine.
