I don't believe my references were even contacted yet (same goes for 2 others I know who interviewed). I understand the appropriations issues and holiday timing but I hoped they would roll out the offers quickly to lessen this anxiety ridden waiting game :?
Ya, things are moving really slow in the government this year. I know my agency is over a month behind making offers from when it normally does. I just hope that the delay eventually leads to offers being made. It would really suck to wait all this time and find out the agency can't make any offers. Makes you wonder why agencies don't just wait until they get appropriations figured out before they go through the interview process.

I'm also anxiously waiting to hear back from HUD. Does anybody have an idea about how many were interviewed in the regional offices?

My understanding is that 200 of us were interviewed and that they are planning on hiring 10.

If anyone knows anything about HUD offers, please post for all to see! Private messaging seems to go against the point of these boards, which is to share information.

I'm not sure how many came out or when it started. Just that some offers came out this morning and there will probably be a second round end of January or February if anyone declines.

Do you know how they are contacting people with offers? Email, phone, snail mail? Additionally, what region of the country was covered by the information you have about offers being sent out earlier today?

The notification was by phone call, to be followed by snail mail, and came from HQ for HQ.

Re: HUD, does anyone have any other updates? I got a call last week asking me if I was still interested and we discussed my preferred locations. They said they wanted to start making offers by end of last week. I haven't heard anything back yet. I interviewed in mid-December and my references were called. I've emailed one of the HR folks asking if offers have been made (I emailed her yesterday) but haven't heard back yet.

No new information, unfortunately, but can I ask if you interviewed for headquarters or a regional/field site? Just based on the posts here I'm thinking that all offers have gone out already, but I just wanted to double check.

I told them that I was flexible -- am able to do either (pretty much any location). It was strange that they called and asked that, then talked to me about locations and then said, 'hopefully we'll be talking to you soon'. It sounded awfully promising. Weird...

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
