Flat out false. I summered at an NYC market paying, spring-bonus giving firm. Both my summer offer letter and my permanent offer had language that compensation was to be determined. That language means "we'll pay you whatever the 'market' rate is."

Wait, do some firms send offers via snail mail without calling? Or, does the phone call come first, followed by the letter in the mail??

my letter specifies that my academic achievement must be at a level "comparable" to that which i showed them

Also going to bump this. Does anyone have any insight into how often offers are revoked for 2L grades? Does Dewey routinely do this?

Is Dewey honestly selective enough to pull an offer based on 2L grades? I don't mean that in a disparaging way but the impression I got from who they are hiring and how they are doing it (HUGE meat-market events of 30-40 people) is that they don't have a high offer to acceptance ratio and don't require tiptop grades to begin with.

i received an offer via phone about two weeks ago but haven't received an offer letter yet

how long does it take to receive an offer letter?
