As of 7:30 pm Eastern on 9/28, I'm still at "referred to components" (Civ, Crim).

One last try: Did anyone who ranked EOIR first change to "selected for interview"?

I ranked EOIR first and my status still says "Application received by DOJ." Hoping this isn't game over already.

I heard second hand that last year, when DOJ still was hiring at the normal clip, 95%+ of those hired were clerks. Take that for what it is worth, but never underestimate the effects of an awful economy.

So, according to the Avue woman's answers from the site, those of us who applied to crim/civ/EOIR are done, since status changes happen all at once according to component :(

Not quite. I read her message as saying that the emails, not the website-based status updates, would happen all at once by component:
Once the online status changes are complete, I'll start sending out notification email messages. These are sent in batches based on the selecting component (e.g., all the Civil Division interview selects are notified at the same time; all the Criminal Division interview selects are notified at the same time, etc.).

If you were selected for interviews have you already sent in the travel survey, or are you waiting for the official e-mail notice?

I got a phone call to schedule the interview... though I still haven't received an e-mail notification. So take that for what it's worth.

Does anyone have any idea how many people each component is interviewing?

Just saw this posted on the Avue message board:
As of this morning, I've changed the status for those HP candidates initially selected for interviews. Selection notices started going out this morning and will be completed today. It is always possible that a component will add candidates after today. We wait a couple of weeks to see how the judicial hiring impacts on the candidate pool. If components decide to add candidates, then those people will be notified a
Sorry - got cut off before the last message was complete. As I was saying, if components add candidates later, we notify those folks separately. That said, if you do not get an email from Avue Digital Services notifying you that you were selected for an interview, the odds are that you will not be selected this year. Please check those spam and junk mail folders because every year one or two messages get routed that direction. Also, even after we issue non-selection notices, if a component asks for a referral list, we may contact people to see if they remain interested. Last year, the latest such contact occurred in July.

My AVUE application says that I have been selected for an interview, but I haven't received an email stating which component wants to interview me... Thoughts?

Is this a fluke?

I, too, had the status change with no email. I think they may've just not gotten to emailing our division yet. If its a fluke, it's a very cruel one.

My interview has been scheduled, and I still don't have an "official" e-mail. So don't freak out.

Question: for those whose statuses have changed to "selected for an interview," but have NOT received an official email would you mind telling us which components you applied to? (only if you're comfortable doing so)

For the guy that said he already scheduled an interview but received no email, are you the ATR guy that got the phone call?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
