Also, I'd love to see options for navy vs. charcoal vs. "offbeat" suit, 3.5 inch vs. 3.75 inch ties, and 24 lb vs. 30 lb resume paper.

That doesn't really fit the joke because either of those would be dingworthy.

So if you've accepted an offer at a place where you want to be, what now? Is the job search over? Do you just go back to school and pray not to be no-offered at the end of next summer? Is there anything to do between now and end of summer 2012 other than coast / gun for grades?

Unless you're trying to clerk or your firm requests grades before the summer/when you start the following fall, just chill and don't fail.

School: HLS

Market(s): DC/NY/Boston
Approximate class rank: top 15%
Law review: Yes
Work experience: One year
Anything else that might have an impact? (diversity, etc. or whatever, really): URM
Screening Interviews: 28
Mass mails: Over 50 (Boston)
Callbacks received: 19
Callbacks accepted: 11
Offers w/vault ranges: 2 V5, 2 V10, 2 V15, 2 V50, 1 NLJ250 (Boston). Withdrew from others after I got the offer I accepted.

Very fortunate, and I'm sure the LR/URM combo was a big help in landing these offers.

How can you find out if your firm will request grades? If your grades stay the same but don't go down, is that probably OK?

Ask junior associates. Your ability to write an exam is, at best, tenuously related to your ability to function in a law firm. This is conjecture, albeit based upon personal experience, but even if your class rank drops by like 33%, you should be fine. Do your work, but don't stress out. I sure wish I hadn't stressed during 2L.

Cool, thanks. It's hard because like most law students, we probably only have 2 gears -- all out and total slack. Gonna be an interesting year... :)

Any more updates from people? Let's make sure to keep adding so that the c/o 2014 can use this. I know it helped me when I was getting ready for OCI.

School: UT
Market(s): Texas
Approximate class rank: Around top 10%
Law review: Yes
Work experience: 1 year
IP background:No
Anything else that might have an impact? (diversity, etc. or whatever, really): Grad degree
Screening Interviews: 25
Mass mails: 0
Callbacks received: 6
Callbacks accepted: 4 (cancelled other two after recieving first two offers)
Offers w/vault ranges: 1 V10 and 1 ~V50 (one of the big three in TX). Accepted both (doing split summer).
How many firms just didn't get back with you with a rejection/callback? I had been dinged at one of my CB firms already and withdrew from consideration from other after offers.
Thank-you notes sent: No
Further info?: UT has a hybrid preselect/lottery system. One of the offers was from a firm I was originally an alternate with.

Very happy with how things turned out, but I was definitely a bit stressed out during the process.

School: Boalt
Market(s): CA (northern and southern)
Approximate class rank: Um...probably between top 10 and top 20%?
Law review: Secondary journal
Work experience: 1 year
IP background: No
Anything else that might have an impact? (diversity, etc. or whatever, really): Work experience that at least made for interesting interview fodder. I obviously don't have a socially acceptable way of testing this, but I think being a girl also helped.
Screening Interviews: 23
Mass mails: 0
Callbacks received: 15
Callbacks accepted: 8 (cancelled a few at different stages)
Offers w/vault ranges: 4 (I think they are V50 and above, but I'm not sure. Vault rankings don't seem to matter as much for CA firms).
How many firms just didn't get back with you with a rejection/callback? Eventually got all rejections from callbacks. accepted offer before I heard from two CBs.
Thank-you notes sent: Yes (not sure if they are important, but it made me feel better and I'm the personality type that can be expected to send them)
