Advice for Crim Law

Current 1L hoping to do criminal defense or prosecution work. Any advice regarding what kinds of summer employment I should be shooting for? Thanks.

The obvious? DAs, public defenders, little defense-oriented public interest groups... working for judges (on any level, really, the courts of appeals are hotbeds of crim law)...
