Doc Review down to $20 an hour

Postby upperdarby » Sun Sep 04, 2011 5:39 pm

Anyone care to predict when doc review/shitlaw offices actually pay state minimum wage to licensed attorneys? We're not far off, with "domestic outsourced" doc review gigs in flyover country down to $20 an hour:

There was a project early this year for an agency called Robert Half in Boston that was paying $17 an hour and required a JD but not bar admission, FYI.

Someone should make an app called "Troll Hunting."

I also keep hearing this line whenever I hear these posts: "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

Seriously, if some TTT law school tricked you out of your money go picket their campus.

This is a very realistic endgame for the majority of law students.

I think there's an influx of JDU trolls drawn in by the USS Worried. So far as I know, this is not areyouinsane.

*THIS* is what people are worried about...

and not outsourcing/automating the job completely?

anyone with even a passing understanding of our legal system knows that complete outsourcing/automatic cannot happen any time in the near to mid future ... the automation meme that's been going around is a flame or pipedream of people who don't understand American legal practice

You bolded "complete." If your point is that there will be automation/outsourcing of the absolute bottomfeeders who offer divorce, bankruptcy, and will packages to individual poor people with no assets to worry about, well okay. But no client with money is going to trust a computer or a non-native English speaker to take their case and argue it in front of a U.S. judge. Even doc review can't really be trusted to non-native speakers or idiots past a certain point of basic screening.
