NALP Reimbursement with Car Mileage
Quick question. If you drive to an interview, what value do you put in the $/mi space on the NALP reimbursement form?

I got a driving CB, and they told me to use $0.55/mi, which is the IRS rate.BarCliff wrote:Quick question. If you drive to an interview, what value do you put in the $/mi space on the NALP reimbursement form?

You really should confirm with the firm before putting it down. My summer firm reimbursed us 55.5 cents/mile (the official rate) so that the accounting process didn't get thrown off.BarCliff wrote:That's what I was thinking.Wholigan wrote:I got a driving CB, and they told me to use $0.55/mi, which is the IRS rate.BarCliff wrote:Quick question. Similar question: If the firm is a NALP firm but doesn't give you a form when you leave a callback, is it accepted practice to pull one off the web and send it in, or just suck it up and take the hit for gas money? A couple of the firm's I've interviewed with a NALP firms but have never mentioned reimbursement after I drive there.
Edit: Didn't mean to be anon. Sorry about that.

The only acceptable practice is to call recruiting and ask unless it is specifically mention in the material they sent you or prominent on their website. It might be listed under their summer faq section.Sup Kid wrote:Accepted practice is to call recruiting and ask.Anonymous User wrote:Similar question: If the firm is a NALP firm but doesn't give you a form when you leave a callback, is it accepted practice to pull one off the web and send it in, or just suck it up and take the hit for gas money? Seemingly stupid question, but do you calculate mileage for both ways or just one way?
