Getting on, 5 CB's so far, 1 next week. 1 ding, waiting on three all that happened last week. One of which I've heard two other people on TLS have offers. ugh.

Anonymous User wrote:Alright, after today, I'm on the damn boat. T20, top 20%, secondary journal . . . 17 screeners, 6 callbacks. I've done 4 so far, been rejected by one and am still waiting (2+ weeks later) on the other three. I have two more callbacks in the next week. Problematically, though, most of the firms have summer classes below five.

Color me concerned.
Quoted anon here, and finally off the boat! Got an offer from my sixth and final callback, and only waited two days for the phone call. Right now I am at 1 Offer / 2 Rejections / 3 Silence, but the offer is from the best firm I interviewed with (V40 in DC) so I'm pretty sure I'll accept.

Keep your hopes up, ladies and gents, and go after every interview like it's your only one.

Did you mass mail your home market? If not, do it ASAP -- at the very least it should buy you more interviews. I didn't do great at OCI as a transfer (2 CB's), but I managed to rack up 6 CB's so far in my home market outside of OCI.

NOR CAL...
I said I had my callback on Aug. 26 earlier, and I know I was the only callback that day. So if you went on that same day, then we're definitely talking about different firms. If not, then let's hope two people decline and we both get offers? Are you waiting on other firms too?

Sigh, guess I need to lean on ppl for moral support now...23 OCI interviews, 1 CB (I interview badly, I'll admit it), now just waiting...anyone got any advice?

My OCS advisor said I need to start looking at 1L positions...I did not find that to be helpful.

19 screeners 1 CB bro. Managed to snag 5 CBs through mass mail and an offer. Some secondary markets aren't done hiring. Get on it.

I have been emailing back in my home area (Philly) and now just trying to work connections, but I live in NYC....the market is pretty much done.

I'm in a similar situation. Did you follow up?
I did. Recruiter responded and basically told me I'm on the wait-list, and the firm is waiting for candidates to respond before extending more offers. I'm hoping someone declines... You should definitely follow up though. Nothing to lose now!
Had a CB almost 2 weeks before yours. Still waiting, have followed up twice with no response. I think they forgot to send the ding and wonder why I am following up.

FWIW I had only one CB and it resulted in an offer. Research the firm extremely well and have good answers to why you want to be there.

Well, I did do okay (by my standards) on the call back. Not amazing....but I have L.Rev and top 10%, and I was definitely enthusiastic.

I've got one foot still trapped on this ship since I'm in a market that really pushes splitting

17 Screeners from OCI, 17 from minority job fairs
12 CBs total
So far, 3 dings, 1 offer from a V30 (for only half the summer), waiting on the rest :(

I vastly outperformed my class ranking, so I think my interview skills carried me through the screeners to the callback, but when the hiring committee looks at me on paper, I of course pale in comparison to all their other callbacks

School: UT/UCLA/Vandy
Ranking: Around (maybe outside of) Top 1/3
Work Experience: 3 years
Non-URM

Can 2Ls apply for 1L positions?

if only we could combine forces...i was explicitly told that while i look great on paper, i come off as too disinterested during interviews. unfortunately, that's just my personality. hard to change that without coming across as fake.

Exactly. Our career services people are PROFOUNDLY unhelpful. When half of the Law Review staff cannot get a job through OCI, at any school, that means there is a serious problem.

Hasn't this been true for a long time for a lot of the T3/4 schools?
