Is anyone with an offer concerned about their history of long deferrals and the fact that they are hiring at pre-ITE rates while still absorbing the deferred associates?

And no, "most" firms haven't deferred associates this much. I know plenty of TTTs where Class of 2011 associates are starting or have started this month.
How do you know that they are staring in January? I've heard that they are starting on time...Fresh Prince wrote:Weil is starting the Class of 2011 in January... and gave them only a $10,000 salary advance.

Keep in mind that the c/o 2011 will be starting with some of the c/o 2010 that deferred until Jan 2012.
Perhaps. But the SA Class of 2011 will be much smaller than 2012, per the hiring partner. Just sayin'.Anonymous User wrote:D'oh... sorry I thought he meant SA class of 2011, which I heard was starting on time.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:How do you know that they are staring in January? Do you mean this in seriousness or sarcasm?Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote: Perhaps. But the SA Class of 2011 will be much smaller than 2012, per the hiring partner. Just sayin'.
I'm sure they're not looking to expand the program again next year and then have to defer again.
Different anon, but know quite a few people avoiding Weil based on concerns about deferrals, no-offer rates, and key partners leaving.Anonymous User wrote:Do you mean this in seriousness or sarcasm?Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote: Perhaps. Thought they were trying for 100 firmwide? Can you link me to the NALP 36 figure? ThanksAnonymous User wrote:Does anybody know Weil's expected 2012 SA class size? I know NALP says 36, but wondering if anybody has insight into whether that has changed. Thanks.
There's an article out there that says they wanted 100 firmwide SA 2012. http://amlawdaily.typepad.com/amlawdail ... 8/oci.htmlAnonymous User wrote:Thought they were trying for 100 firmwide?
