Secondary Market to Which you have No Connections.
So, I am a 3L at a T14. I struck out 2L, and ended up working for the federal government. So I have a call-back interview with a satellite office of a big firm in a secondary market to which I have no connections. When I say none, I mean that. I have never been there and I am from a different part of the country and the city is 500 miles from where I go to law school. Any advice on how to deal with the inevitable why this city question?

Spout off positive things you've heard about the city. If the firm has some unusual specialty, mention that as well (although you want to avoid getting pigeonholed). You must have met someone from the city at some point who had good things to say.
