I suppose I could have missed it, but I didn't see any Ropes interviewer initials. What were they, if you don't mind?Anonymous User wrote:Paul Weiss cb (initials GH). S&C, Ropes, Bingham, and Cleary as well (all NYC, initials already posted).
For the anon concerned about Covington, if you interviewed with DC or both NYC and DC, I was told you wouldn't hear for a week due to cross conferencing and reference checking whereas NYC alone would be faster.

He was my interviewer. &^%$, hope he is still calling! Top choice firm, and best interview of the day. Given the immense prep I put into this one and the great vibe I got, its really gonna hurt. I can totally understand if the "elite" firms pass me over no matter how good the interview, but this one was my dream firm. Cmon, CM!!Anonymous User wrote:CM.Anonymous User wrote:I suppose I could have missed it, but I didn't see any Ropes interviewer initials. Wow I am so down about Ropes now that it seems like I'm not getting a call. Praying that I get a call from freakin' somewhere tonight just to pick my spirits back up.

Any calls coming in from an 801 number? It's a Utah area code. I have a missed call, no voicemail, and I don't know a soul from Utah.

Re: NYU EIW Callback Nonsense (Consolidated)
I did a bit earlier, being from Utah I thought it was someone I knew but it wound up being a customer satisfaction survey from CVS based on a "recent purchase" which would be at the Bleecker & Thompson location. Every company and its dog has an outbound call center in Utah, so wouldn't be surprised if it was something like that.Anonymous User wrote:Any calls coming in from an 801 number? Nothing here, although I didn't think that interview went very well. I'm a little surprised no one is reporting a Wachtell CB yet.Anonymous User wrote:Any noise from Wachtell?
Also got Paul Weiss this afternoon, so they're not done calling.

Re: NYU EIW Callback Nonsense (Consolidated)
I've started to notice a distinct pattern in the CBs I've received. I've got 10 callbacks and 9/10 have been from when I interviewed with an older partner ~50-55+, though that category makes up only about half of my interviews--and I'm 3/3 for the times I've interviewed with a head of a practice group/office. OTOH, when I've interviewed with associates and younger partners, even those interviews I thought went well, I haven't received a CB. Starting to get a little concerned how this might influence CB dynamics.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
