Frankly d00ds,

As to other guy's question, PW dinged me the day after according to date on the letter. Didn't get it until slightly under a week later tho...Since apparently my level of enthusiasm was not commensurate with expectations, I am thrilled with what I have.

Did they ask you where else you were interviewing or how your cycle was going ? IMO if it seems in the interview like you have an offer from somewhere that is a better fit they won't extend the offer b/c it seems to them like they could use that offer for someone they are more likely to get. They can only extend so many offers; it would make sense to hedge.

Anyway congrats. Those are great places.

Finally got rejection from DPW after EIW. Letter dated 8/24. Did you guys get lost on the way to the mailbox or what?

Snail mail dings from Quinn and Latham. Now its just down to Sidley and Davis Polk in the race to see who is the last to the finish line. Its bittersweet that I'm going to completely strike out on V25 firms given that I interviewed with 13 of them. But I won't be upset in the end, because I still managed 10 Vault firm CB's through EIW and hosp. suite resume drops. Could have been better, but it def could have been worse.

Just a few days ago, I sent an update to my Davis Polk interviewer, and he said he would pass it along to recruiting to update my file. So I'm obviously not out of the running quite yet (and I doubt he would have even bothered with a response if he had already put in the word that they should reject me). Fingers crossed real tight for a miracle on this one.

The post-EIW CBs were from firms that I did resume drops with/schmoozed my way into interviews (PH, FF).

And so it ends. Rejections from Sidley and Davis Polk today. So not a single V25 CB, but I have enough others that I should be ok. At least I don't have to do anymore pointless waiting/hoping on EIW firms.

How long has it been since your CB? I'm going on 2 weeks with no news and I'm foolishly hanging onto hope.

Just an update. Even though he said he would update my file, I had a rejection letter waiting just a day or 2 later. So the wait was pointless for me.

It was after a screener. I haven't heard from anyone else about this firm.
