What is it, what is the day-to-day life of an associate in this practice area, what are the skills required for success, etc....

Do you have a more specific area in mind? Regulatory work is an umbrella term - ERISA work is going to be different from financial institutions which is going to be different from telecom or food & drug.

I am less interested in choosing a specific area; but any examples from any area would be helpful.
