GDC NY confirmed.
GDC call today or Friday / over the weekend? Debating when to give up hope.

Call this evening. The calls seem to come slowly

They asked me for a writing sample. It's hard to believe they went through all the writing samples already...
my interviewers didn't ask me for one...weird.

in regard to writing samples, paul hastings requested a writing sample on symplicity and i brought one, but my interviewer didn't ask for it & i completely forgot about it until i got home from the hotel. i've heard of interviewers at other firms being inconsistent as to whether or not they asked for a writing sample. i wonder if firms that request them at the screener actually look at them, or just hold off doing that until the CB stage like most other firms...

Nope, I think they handed them out to everyone.
really? damn. why do you say that? and here i thought i was special...
wait, that doesn't make sense. why would they invite everyone they interview to a reception when they already know they're going to ding some of them?

shearman invited everyone to a reception too. maybe just trying to make a good impression with those they do call back.

fwiw, for NY at least, i dont think many firms even look at them then... for example, P,W says on their callback scheduler not to bother bringing one, and others haven't asked us to bring one

Some filters in Cubmail block their email. You have to call the recruiting department and ask them to send it to another email address.

The recruiting dept lady handed the invites out to everyone who came into the hospitality suite. I don't understand the reasoning, but it can't have been a callback sign I don't think, sorry!

I haven't either... mine was for Cleary DC though... don't know if that makes a difference. Have people actually -gotten- the email?

Does anyone know what's up with the callback receptions? Are we unlikely to get offers until after those even if our interviews are well before them? It seems awkward to have a callback reception when you've rejected some of the candidates...

Good luck to everyone today! LAST DAY OF EIP WOOT.

How early is it acceptable to be for CBs? Is ten minutes early too early?
