Anyone know what the average number of callbacks generally is? I have 6, but I'm afraid of the possibility that none of those will translate into an offer.

I don't know what the average is but I only have 4 and already know that one will not turn into an offer, if that makes you feel any better.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone know what the average number of callbacks generally is? Based on the spreadsheet career services gave us, the average number of callbacks per student last year was 6.8 (this may be off by a couple of decimal points because of the uncertainty around the denominator).Anonymous User wrote:Anyone know what the average number of callbacks generally is? I imagine this year is similar or maybe slightly higher. However the median is probably significantly lower than the average (since there are a bunch of kent/high stone/LR kids with 12+). If I had to guess, the median number of callbacks is probably somewhere around 4-5.

I got an offer next day, but it can definitely vary based on lots of random things like how busy the partner is.Anonymous User wrote:When do you think is the earliest we will hear back about offers? I had a CB wednesday, and I really hope I'll hear before Sept....

Depends on the firm. Large NYC firms seem to offer within a couple of days or sometimes on the spot. Others are more likely to be a week or two.Anonymous User wrote:When do you think is the earliest we will hear back about offers? I had a CB wednesday, and I really hope I'll hear before Sept....
My experience with rejections is that I didn't hear back until well after two weeks after the callback, as firms waited to see whether they could fill their class with the first round or two of offers.

It can be as quick as same day, or as long as two weeks. About 3-4 business days was typical in my experience (for large NYC firms). Dings tend to take longer.Anonymous User wrote:When do you think is the earliest we will hear back about offers? I had a CB wednesday, and I really hope I'll hear before Sept....

Re: CLS EIP 2011
Are you guys sending thank-yous after callbacks? Someone at the callback panel said they should just be sent to the interviewers you had the best experience with. However, this sounds like it would offend anyone who didn't receive a thank-you.

Nope, another firm. Pretty sure it normally takes longer than that normally and I just got lucky.
