Is Groom Law Group interviewing at Georgetown? If yes, on what day? Are they considering 3Ls? LLMs?

Groom Law will be at OCI on Aug 17.

OP -- how do you know that they'll come out on the 1st?

Edit: Groom will be doing three 3L interviews

Way too much waiting between EIW results and Journal competition (anyone have any info here?). Law school is very much a hurry up and wait game. Sigh.

Two questions-

Symplicity indicates that cancellations start tomorrow. Does that mean that we'll get results tomorrow? Can't cancel what you don't have...

Second, does anyone know what "Resume Review July 25-26" means under the important dates portion of the EIW Symplicit page?

Good luck everyone.

Thanks for the information. I don't go to Georgetown. I'm interviewing at Groom offices first week of office. Got it through a contact.

I could be wrong about EIW results, but if I recall last year they came out about 2 weeks before the fun started. Given that the deadline for canceling interviews is August 8, it's either tomorrow or Monday.

As for journal, my friend is EIC on one and she told me that the selections were made on Tuesday. Barring a surprise, the announcement should be tomorrow (last year, it came out two weeks or so before EIW, and it was on a Friday).

And seriously, a) don't stress about EIW lottery, because that's not really something you can control (unless you bid terribly), and b) it's just journal and a year of bluebooking!

Do you know how they release journal results? Are they going to be posted on the competition site, or do they do the whole phone call thing?

From the competition site:
Results - not available at this time
You will receive an e-mail announcing that the results are posted. Once you receive this email you can log in here to view the results. You must have both your exam number and your Write On packet number to retrieve your results.

On a scale from 1-10, how important is it to be at EIW Orientation?

One of the OCS counselors told me thats where you learn the ins and outs of how to do EIW. Basically, theyre going to tell us how to do those last minute lottery or interview add/drop or whatever it is.
If you have nothing to do that Saturday, might as well stop by; alternatively, just read the PDF file on the EIW website

On a 1-10 scale, I rank it somewhere between the "How to outline" presentation and the cupcake parties

So we're now in the "cancellation period" but I have no interviews to cancel.

Release them Symplicity!

EIW orientation is worthless, unless you have literally never been on an interview before in your entire life. They changed last minute lottery process this year; last year it was all done online the night before each interview day.

Journal selections might be out today, but not for transfers. And there will be transfers who make journals so I'm not sure how each journal "reserves" spots. Source: I'm an editor on a journal.

I have 7 interviews. 5 DC and 2 NY. My bids were heavily weighted toward DC.

I have 14 all in my top 20.. Only 6 firms will get my resume and bottom thirty choices get nothing from me. Is everyone else the same? All picks in the top 20?

12 NY, 2 Atlanta.

That plus 5 preselects in Texas and I am happy.
