I've heard from a few (a few rejections, that is), but other than that, yeah I'm surprised at the amount I'm still waiting to hear from. Unfortunately I expect that to mean my mailbox will be stuffed with letters early next week...Anonymous User wrote:Crickets chirping

Re: Georgetown 2011 OCI Thread
Assuming that Latham doesn't reject everyone from Georgetown this is just wrong. You are probably the same person that would complain when firms only accept the tip top students. In this case Latham decided the original poster wasn't a good fit even with exceptional qualifications and likely, not certainly, took someone lower in his place. If anything that means they were looking at the total package and should be applauded-not scorned. I imagine they try to CB the same rough amount each year to placate our career services.Anonymous User wrote:F*ck Latham. You probably didn't want to work for 3 years before getting shoved out the door during a mass purge anyway, right?Anonymous User wrote:Latham ding via snail mail. Also, we all knew or should have known the big law business model before coming to law school. Some get pushed out, some make partner, and some flounder in what appears to be nothingness-the vast majority being the first or third. Complaining that it happened at Latham is just silly-it happens in all of big law.

Here are a few more I haven't heard from:
STB (NYC)
Weil (NYC)
Shearman (NYC)
Milbank (NYC)
Jones Day (DC)
Anything definitive on those?

They had a dinner for 20-25 students who interviewed at the different offices. Everyone I know who was there received a CB. Don't know whether they are also extending CBs outside of the dinner invitation.Anonymous User wrote:I hadn't even heard of anyone being invited to a dinner with them. That seems like a lot of callbacks from one school...

Re: Georgetown 2011 OCI Thread
Ok. So I posted the original comment and wanted to stop this before any more comments were wasted. I was just commiserating with a fellow GULC student about not getting a callback with a firm that has a median GPA offer rate well below what they have. I actually meant it more as encouragement/ support to them than anything else. Good luck to everyone with the waiting and callbacks.Anonymous User wrote:Assuming that Latham doesn't reject everyone from Georgetown this is just wrong.
