Never said that WUSTL was killing it in Chicago, CA, or NYC. Reread the post more carefully.
Can we please stop discussing whether a school with less than a 20% NLJ250 placement is killing it anywhere? Thanks.
I lol'd.

My callback was September 28th and I have not heard anything yet. Dinsmore went from "I like this firm" to "This is by far my #1 choice" after I did the CB.

They did tell me that I'd hear something "very soon," but in the Midwest, I guess that means 2-3 weeks.

I loved the firm as well. All my interviewers were awesome. The hiring partner was somewhat awkward and hard to read, but I hope it went well enough.

Just wanted to share that three of my friends have gotten SAs in the past week. To my knowledge, none of them were in the top 20%, and I am pretty sure one or two of them were outside top 1/3. I know others who have snagged screeners and callbacks in the past few days from mailings. Some firms are still hiring, and all it takes is one. Errbody keep hitting the pavement and keep sending out apps, and don't lose hope yet.

Secondaries. Florida and one Midwest market, smaller city.

Don't get me wrong... I still think things suck and WUSTL is pretty crappy for placement. Of the 30+ people I know with offers, only 1 is in Chicago. This is piss poor for a school that claims Chicago as a "home market."

I just thought I'd share this info because it just offers a little hope to those still looking, and I hope people don't throw in the towel quite yet. Firms are still hiring.

But yes, I'll try to be more happy Romo. 8)

In my offer letter it says they expect you there for the full program and their NALP form says splits are not allowed. What firm are you considering splitting with?

I'm not. I sat down with a friend the other day and we just named everyone we knew with offers. We had probably 30 people we knew for sure, and another 10-20 that we figure must have an offer but we weren't sure. Of our list, only 1 of the offers was in Chicago.

I know a few others have Chicago offers (someone has a Winston offer according to the WUSTL EIW thread, and I'm sure some other people do too), but we only came up with one. Chicago sucks, and our placement in Chicago is downright embarrassing.

Another firm in MO. I doubt it would fly, just thought someone might know of some rare situation.

Nice. Are you definitely going BC, though? I am.

Trying to make that decision. What are your thoughts? Why BC? Did you look at any other firms?

lolz. I wont get into which school is better for Chicago mkt argument, but I personally know of at least 20 people at UIUC with SA in Chicago. A few from vault 10, but the vast majority from Vault 15-50. I have heard a lot of people with offers at other markets too, including nyc. It might be the same people with multiple offers, but it seems that this year was definitively better than the previous one.

Can you people seriously stop with the bickering about Wash U? One of you just start a thread about it already and drop a link in here if you really want to keep going back and forth.

In this post, a person takes people's posts (who have offers anyway) speaking the truth about a city/school and gets angry about it.

+1.

I agree that we should avoid bickering about Wash U or any other particular school (I've said that many times), but last time I checked, this is a thread about T25 OCI discussion and results. Let's not confuse pointless bickering (which was what was going on a few pages back) with legitimate discussion of OCI results, which I am fairly sure my last few posts would be categorized as. Saying our Chicago OCI placement has been terrible seems pretty on-topic to me.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
