Got a CB from JG near the end of last week.

Damn. Are you "a hungry aggressive lawyer"? I guess it was clear that I am not.

Yeah my interview was weird, he told me sort of condescendingly at the end of the interview that I was "very interesting", so kind of surprised at the CB.

Well, good luck! He seemed like he'd be a terrible boss.

Fellow HLSers who have done callbacks: have you been sending thank-you emails? I would like to have the courage not to (not because these people do not deserve thanks, but because I honestly find it hard to personalize for everyone yet don't want to leave anyone out), but I'm also paranoid. Would love to hear of some others who have had the audacity simply to say thank you at the end of the interview (which I always do) and to leave it at that.

OCS has a page dedicated to this. i forget the details of it, but i think it comes down to them not being necessary...and if you do want to send one, just send one to either the hiring partner or an attorney you had a very strong rapport with and CAN have a personalized msg. if not, dont do it as it tends to have very little benefit while still creating the possibility of you messing up. <-- latter happened to me last year :P

edit: oh also you can check your email right now too -- OCS just sent us something on it

No, I understand what OCS and others on TLS have said about whether or not to do it -- I just want the psychological boost of someone in roughly my same boat telling me that they didn't send TY emails. It's not entirely rational, just a desire to feel like I'm not alone.

A question of terminology: do post-CB rejections fall under the broader category of "dings"? Or is there a unique term for that particular misfortune?

"dongs" is the preferred terminology here.
