$$$$$$ wrote:It's definitely a calback, I have a couple from mass mails and they were all screeners (1 attorney or HR person), I also have one from resume drop and its with 3 so im not too sure what it is, but my guess is a callback. They would not waste that much money to let you talk to 4 attorneys just to see if you should come in again...but what the hell do i know. Also, they will probably talk to you about how its really early in the process and so it may take a while to give you a decision.
That is exactly what they said; is it too hopeful to actually believe them and just wait it out for the offer? I appreciate your help here.

Also, anyone heard anything from Weil?
Yes... call back scheduled. Below median at T6.
LOLWeil.

Callback invite to one of Indianapolis's big three (Baker Daniels, Barnes and Thornburg, Ice Miller). Got it through combo network hustle and mass mail.

Good grades from a T25 located outside of Indiana.

Sent mass mailings to my home market in the south (think SEC school states) last night. Got the first interview request this morning. T20, top 25%, secondary journal.

Yes, and the interview request came via email as well. Just one attorney, so screener.

1) What is a "pre-screener"? I know what a CB or a screener is, but pre?

2) If it's with two attorneys from the hiring committee but it is a small office in a small market, is that still a screener or a CB?

Ugh. Just got an e-mail from Kirkland & Ellis telling me to submit online. Their online application is absolutely atrocious.

Almost exact same question. I have an interview with a 100 attorney firm in a small market ("city" under 100,000). The interview is only scheduled to last an hour. However, it will involve three separate interviews with the chair of the hiring committee, a second member of the hiring committee and the human resources director. Does this sound like a callback? The length makes me think no. But it certainly sounds more involved than a typical screener.

Screener's are typically only one interview. If you're meeting with multiple people, it seems like it's your only interview with them, and is thus more like a cb.

I've had in-office screeners with two people before (one associate and one partner).

Two entirely separate interviews that lasted roughly an hour long for each one. Firm explicitly told me it was a screening interview and that the next step in the process would be a callback. V40 firm.

Interesting. I didn't get that. But maybe it differs between offices. I'm waiting on K&E NY.

All I've gotten from them was a reminder to apply for their diversity scholarship.

Interesting, thanks for the info. Sounds like it's outside the norm because I thought screener's were just a quick vet, but good to know.

A V15 firm responded to my mass mailing by telling me to swing by their hospitality suite when they're on campus. Is this a positive or something they likely do for everyone?

in re: hospitality suites

our OCI starts next week and I've heard nothing from school about hospitality suites existing, much less who, when and where ... is this something universal and information should be forthcoming? or do you need to contact recruiters themselves? meh.

Curtis-Mallet ding via snail mail. MVP transfer (top 5%, T2).
Also, from yesterday, Pepper Hamilton wants online submissions.

Went for callback (never had a screener) with a large NJ firm, and was made an offer about 4 hours later even though the HR person told me they would follow up with me in 2 weeks to let me know their decision. So psyched that I can go into OCI with an offer already in hand. I really liked the firm and the people during my visit today and could certainly see myself working there. CCN transfer btw.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
