In a similar boat. Wondering whether they might not be as quick in turnaround as they were a couple weeks ago since it's OCI week at like half the schools they go to . . . otherwise I guess I'm just waiting on a snail mail rejection letter :(

Anyone having any luck mailing DC firms?
Top 1% T40, WE, screeners w/ 2 V30 firms from July mailers, "we're still evaluating and you're still in the running" from two V50 firms from July mailers (I called to check), radio silence from four resume collection firms, radio silence from six mass mailer firms. No dings -- yet.

You are right. CCN transfer. Mostly applying to NJ/PA (significant ties to the area) firms via mass mails since the NYC firms are coming to campus. The firm is Sills, Cummis & Gross, which is one of the larger NJ firms. Had interview with Day Pitney today, Porzio Bromberg callback tomorrow, and callback with Lowenstein Sandler Wednesday. I'm sure most NJ natives will be familiar with these firms

How did your interview with Porzio go and have you heard anything back yet?
I felt like it went well. The people I met with really seemed to like it there, and I got a good vibe. I guess I will know pretty soon what they thought.

Any updates from Porzio? Did you hear back yet?

Here's a host of updates that will hopefully help some of you feel better about yourselves (all results from mass mail):
-T2, top 20, LR, Secondary Journal, decent WE

Dings:
-King & Spalding (Atlanta)(email)
-K&L Gates (Charlotte)(email)
-Jones Walker (Dallas)(mail)
-Akin Gump (Dallas)(mail)
-Fulbright & Jaworski (Dallas)(email)

Radio silence elsewhere. Got a couple callbacks but they're smaller NLJ250 firms, don't want to out them this early in the process. Hope that helps.

This weekend is the only time I'm going to have prepare mass mail. I know it is very late in the process, but this is that best I can do.

My potentially silly question is this: is there any benefit to waiting till Monday to send out my emails, as opposed to this weekend?

I know they will still be the inboxes on Monday, it's just that I have always had this thing against applying for stuff over the weekend, or even on Friday. I feel like emails received on those days tend to get put off or more easily dismissed. I think Fridays are the worst actually in that regard, as I feel like non-urgent emails received on that day get largely ignored till Monday.

All this is based on absolutely nothing empirical, save perhaps my own dubious work ethics. ;-)

So, weekend? Or wait till Monday?

(I roll my eyes at many of the questions asked on this board, but for once, I'm certain I'm being the dumb one today. Have at. :-) )

Just send them ASAP. No need to wait until Monday.

When (if ever) is it appropriate to send an e-mail follow-up to a firm that you've applied to via their online application? I've only been waiting for about two weeks so I'm sure it's too soon for me to do this, but I am just curious what the prevailing TLS wisdom on this subject suggests.

Just got emailed a PDF of a rejection letter from Freshfields (not sure if it came to my house because I haven't been home). It was dated Aug 3 (applied on July 30th).

MVP, top 10%, secondary

I got rejected from them as well, but by mail. Top 5% MVP plus LR, with work experience. I wonder what they're looking for.

For those of you with Cahill offers, have you been contacted (repeatedly) by someone at the firm trying to pressure you into committing? Is this their SOP?

I have not received an offer - but I have been waiting to hear back and my guess is, at least with the mass mailing people, they have others they would want to extend to if the offers they already made fall through and they want to know so that they have an idea how many more offers to extend.
