Background Check STILL not clear
anyone heard of this happening? It has been processing for over 2 months now... is this how they fail you? i.e. No explicit statement that you did not pass, but just keep saying its still processing until the work period has passed?
Pretty depressed about it tbh

also, how long do these usually take to process generally? I was under the impression it would take about 1 month

Re: Background Check STILL not clear
Completely depends on how they do the check. If it is through an agency, shouldn't take longer than a couple of weeks. They may not have submitted it right away though. If it is a large firm with a lot going on they may just not have gotten to it yet.Anonymous User wrote:also, how long do these usually take to process generally? Well that will probably take a while. Give it more time and be patient.Anonymous User wrote:it is a background check for a government internship (form sf 85p to be specific)

When I worked for the feds, I never got confirmation that my background check cleared. They just gave me a start date and I showed up.

I did a DHS internship in college and the background check was pretty intensive and long. Probably took a couple of months from start to finish and I'm completely clean.

Re: Background Check STILL not clear
I ran a fingerprint background check on myself and it took about a month to come back, but that's mainly because the idiots butchered my address and I think it bounced around a few post offices.

I'm externing at a USAO in the fall--my 86p form was complete and they sent it to DC on May 20-something. I heard back last week (July 6 I think) that I am good to go.

Mine took 2.5 months, it just depends on how fast the office your working in submits it (and there's really no way for you to know without being a pain). Don't worry about it.
