Top 1/3 at bottom T14... Litigation?

Post by Anonymous User » Sun Jul 03, 2011 11:55 pm

I'm between top third and top 25% at a T12-T14. Don't know about journal yet, but secondary journal is pretty likely.

Primary interests are litigation and white collar defense. My concerns are (1) getting into a lit or white collar practice group and (2) gaining substantive experience as early as is possible in biglaw. I don't want to be stuck doing nothing but doc review work for the first two years, though I know some amount is inevitable, and I really don't want to be stuck doing corporate work. Prestige/exit options/partnerships prospects are NOT important; my long planned exit strategy is hanging a shingle after 4-5 years.

Could anyone suggest any firms in my range that have large lit and/or white collar practice groups and have reputations for early immersion in substantive work?
