Sullivan & Cromwell's overseas program

Post by sundance1988 » Thu Jun 16, 2011 2:30 am

Anyone here familiar with S&C's summer program split between NY and one of their overseas offices? Any general info would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know how competitive it is? Presumably quite, as it is Sullivan.

Overseas rotations tend not to be that competitive. With respect to full time associates, most people have roots to one location that would be disrupted by the move. People with necessary language skills are often hired to do rotations like that, otherwise being shipped overseas - while potentially adventurous and lucrative with CoI adjustments - is often viewed as drawing the short straw. There may be exceptions, but that's the impression I've gotten from the various firms with international offices. Even with respect to the summer it's certainly not like S&C scrutinizes transcripts extra thoroughly to decide who gets to kick it in London or anything. If you express interest and they have space it's likely to happen.
