Re: Mich OCI 2011
I'm someone with top 10% grades (secondary journal, 2 years sorta of shitty WE after graduating, unprestigious undergrad) and OCI has not gone well for me. Bid mostly NY, no rejections yet, but have not heard back (while others have) from interviews that I *thought* went well where I am significantly above the GPA median (anywhere from .1 to .4) while others have.
I guess it's too early to panic, but it's getting late early.
EDIT: Not really sure others should worry about this. I'm either being over-panicky or there's something uniquely wrong with me, don't think it reflects any dire problems with Michigan's OCI (beyond what we already know about).
EDIT2: I think I'm a bit a socially awkward in general, but not anywhere near the level where I thought I wouldn't be getting CBs with the grades I have.

Re: Mich OCI 2011
i mean, it depends on the market you focused on. i've heard some markets take longer than others. it's only really NY and DC that have a super quick turnaround time. that said, i haven't heard anything (CB or otherwise) from any of the firms I've interviewed with either.Anonymous User wrote:I'm someone with top 10% grades (secondary journal, 2 years sorta of shitty WE after graduating, unprestigious undergrad) and OCI has not gone well for me. I'm also with radio silence, WE, a NYC schedule and plan to set a panic-deadline for next Wednesday .Anonymous User wrote:I'm someone with top 10% grades (secondary journal, 2 years sorta of shitty WE after graduating, unprestigious undergrad) and OCI has not gone well for me. But I don't get the sense that things are going badly overall; just for me .

I have around a 3.5, am on Law Review, am going solely after NYC, and have yet to hear a thing. I am with you on the panic. I thought all my interviews went well (certainly no catastrophes) and both of my pre-OCI mock interviewers thought I was a terrific interviewer. Generally consider myself a pretty affable, sociable person. Not sure what's going on. But I'm scared.Anonymous User wrote:I'm someone with top 10% grades (secondary journal, 2 years sorta of shitty WE after graduating, unprestigious undergrad) and OCI has not gone well for me. My BM interview was really strange. He didn't care about my interest in the practice area and didn't seem enthusiastic about McDermott.

BM was very nice, but, I thought he was going to either fall asleep or sneeze during the entire interview.Anonymous User wrote:

Have we confirmed BM's callbacks went out?

Re: Mich OCI 2011
hahah that was my same reaction! he was really knowledgeable about the firm, but hardly asked any questions and looked like he was about to keel over. i don't know about confirmations..all i know is that i have received neither a CB nor a ding from MWE.Anonymous User wrote:BM was very nice, but, I thought he was going to either fall asleep or sneeze during the entire interview.Anonymous User wrote:

I'm somebody from a different school who interviewed with Weil NYC today. When were the interviews there? Just trying to get some sense of turnaround time.goodolgil wrote:And so did Weil.Anonymous User wrote:Not to add to the NYC unrest, but I just found out CWT made calls today.... .

Weil takes all the callbacks out to dinner the day of the interview.

Did anyone who interviewed with RS at Weil get an invitation to the dinner?

So depressed. I have above median grades, excellent WE and skills and have been told time and time again I am very charismatic and yet nothing for NY...I want to kill self.

Also chiming in in McDermott BM. Was very awkward to talk to and I haven't heard back either. Please stop posting things like "I think they went out" if you don't know for sure either way.

Hey,
While it's nice to hear good news, I just wanted to reassure all the other lurkers out there that it isn't going so swimmingly for all of us (no callbacks from Cravath; no dinners with Davis Polk; a dearth of Kirkland kitsch).
It'll be okay! One last day, folks!
