Above anonymous here again. I think the results varied wildly this year. I know someone with similar grades, same journal, same market, and 6 callbacks.Anonymous User wrote:NY only.Anonymous User wrote:Mind sharing the market?Anonymous User wrote:median, secondary journal - 2 callbacks, 5-6 dings

From the looks of it, I really am an anomaly at Mich (I have WE and solid secondary journal too ).. Congrats to everyone else for getting CB's though .

Michigan is very, very expensive. When's the cutoff to drop out if you haven't gotten any CBs?

I was the secondary journal 2 CBs, they are for NY, but I have some very unique work experience/honors and language skills that I think pulled me through.Anonymous User wrote:Market? Don't troll our thread. You don't go to Michigan so it's no concern of yours.ITE8NY wrote:Michigan is very, very expensive. When's the cutoff to drop out if you haven't gotten any CBs?

Re: Mich OCI 2011
Happy to say that my OCI shut-out is officially over today .
Definitely want to thank OCP for encouraging me to be proactive and letting firms that hadn't rejected me yet know I was still interested. Seriously, if you are/were in my position, make appointments with OCP and listen to them. They know what they are doing as ridiculous or against the TLS CW as it might sound.
And now I'll be going anonymous again for the remainder of the thread.

Care to share some of their advice with the crowd?

Re: Mich OCI 2011
Best advice (that seemed to work, at least for me): If you haven't heard back from a firm, e-mail the interviewer (not the recruiter) and tell them you're still interested in working at the firm. Even better if you have any interviews to leverage (i.e. "I'm going to be in the area on xx date for interviews and would love the opportunity to meet with you again"; doesn't matter if the interviews were through OCI or not, so long as they're in the same area). This is BigLaw. They aren't looking for doormats. Be proactive.Anonymous User wrote:Congrats!keg411 wrote:Happy to say that my OCI shut-out is officially over today .

Also, if you meet with OCP, and follow their recommendations and keep following up, they will help you (even if not every single piece of advice works). They don't want to see you unemployed, but you need to stay on top of things and keep them updated and keep making appointments if you need them, since there are just so many students.

Congrats keg that's good to hear. Overall, it seems like a pretty strong showing for Mich. Hopefully the offers start rolling in.
