URM at DCNG. Chances at biglaw?

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Jun 09, 2011 3:44 am

Grades increased this semester from last, so there's an upward trend. Decent interviewer. Stats:

-3.16 LS GPA.
-Native Spanish fluency.
-Master's degree from a well-regarded university.
-A few years as a Vault 5 firm paralegal.
-3.5 GPA from top LAC; honors.
-Important office-holder in a club, member in others.

I was thinking lower quarter of Vault 100, non-NLJ250 regional firms in NYC metro area (worked there for a few years, so strong ties). Also planning on sending out mass mailings to targeted firms in the NYC area early to mid-July or so. OCI, obviously. Is this unrealistic? Thoughts? Should I spread myself to smallish firms in secondary markets, though I have no meaningful connections?
