Yes, I think it's a reach, but gettable. At my lower T-14, people who have been gotten offers before on average are around top 1/3, however there are people below median who have too. With that said, I think MoFo is a fairly attractive firm, with not a very big summer class, so there's likely to be substantial competition.

Do you know/have any advice on which firms are "in my range," if any?

So is there a place where it defines what is defined by a minority for the fair? Would being Egyptian get you anywhere lol?

What about someone around top 1/3 at Boalt? What's in range?

This is during Boalt's OCI, just so you know.

I thought EIW was 8/8-8/12? The fair is 8/6?

How long did it take people to get a username and password? I registered on the Symplicity site and am waiting for those details.

Also, are cover letters required to bid? I can't see the bidding pages yet, but I'm at the edge of my seat... ;)

And finally, how do you decide what a "reach" firm is v. one where you have a shot? Advice, anyone?

wow, that is very close to the actual event. I am still unsure whether or not I will actually go, and it depends on how many interviews I get. (ie. 1 or 2, unlikely, especially because they are most likely lottery picks).

Bump. Bid results are back. 2 preselects, 4 alternates, and 12 dings. Think I jobbed myself by not applying to any firms that required cover letters. Anyone else?

2 interviews. One of those likely was because of a connection I made.
Talk about competitive.

But excited for the two that I got.

Wow, basically got everything I wanted. 11 preselects, 8 alternates. I may drop 2 interviews, so that will help someone pick up a couple extra.

Slightly above median (about top 40%) at MVP with ties to Southern CA. Only 1 pre-select, 3 alternates. Tough market...

That makes me feel a bit better, well, I already got the plane ticket and never been to SF, might as well plan to enjoy it.

I'm glad my failure is making someone feel better :P I also regret buying my ticket to the Bay Area Fair before the results came out.

I would not lose heart if you only got 1-2 interviews. Keep in mind that alternates have not come out yet. You may very well get 1 from those. Also, keep in mind that the lottery does account for 25%, and everyone has just a good chance at that, and the EV(lottery) = 1 interview. 2-3 interviews, especially given the preselects imply you have meet the grade threshold, = $2-300 plane ticket for sure. Enjoy SF! It's awesome in the summer time (check out a Giants game if you have the chance). Good luck!

Does anyone know how scheduling interviews work? Do we have any control over which times we get for specific firms? And how long are the interviews? Thanks!
