Wondering if any similarly situated firms are this compressed?

That's a very unique scale, especially since K&S and A&B set the Atlanta 1st-year salary at 155, which was matched by almost all the other Atlanta based firms. Even without the other numbers, there aren't that many Amlaw 100 firms that start at 150 in Atlanta (if they're not at 155, they're probably one of the national firms who went to 180 everywhere, e.g., PH, JD, Fish, Finnegan, etc.), so be careful not to out yourself.

To answer your question substantively, most Atlanta firms are very compressed compared to NY and other major markets, but not that compressed.

Interested to hear more about bonus and market raises, particularly on the A&B/K&S scale.

Does Atlanta have larger practices in any of the particular transactional areas? Basically if you were to try to lateral as a midlevel from NYC, would experience in M&A, Securities, PE, Funds, Banking etc. be most desirable?
