I've been hearing for a while that if you make Stone (or LR) you're pretty much set for Biglaw EIP. Any thoughts about the people who are median or slightly above but not quite Stone?
Do you have work experience, a hard science degree, or are you URM? If so, you'll probably do okay bidding on a wide range of firms.
If not, you should bid on the big NYC firms or national firms with NYC offices. Secondary markets are not less competitive than NYC right now and can even be more competitive because of the way EIP is structured (all the people with ties to the secondary market bid on the same firms and the callbacks are more concentrated within the Stone Scholars in that group). You'll want to do a mass mail BEFORE OCI and bring 20 resumes per day to hand out at hospitality suites. Hit every suite. Concentrate bids on firms with large summer classes outside the V10. And be on Symplicity for add/drop and add as many extra interviews as possible.
