The alcohol point has already been belabored over and over and over. Read the first 5 pages before you ask the same question that's continuously derailed this otherwise useful thread.Vronsky wrote:I'm feeling a little self-concious about my SA coming up as a non-drinking, vegan, sabbath-observing, hijab-wearing (multicultural), religious holiday taking, recovering alcoholic. I'm a hippie, josh hamilton, jewish/muslim/mormon all mixed into one non-alcoholic cocktail.Anonymous User wrote:Any sane biglaw partner/firm will understand and support that people have religious or other beliefs that may conflict with some aspect of work (vegans, Sabbath-observers, Hijab-wearers, religious holidays, recovering-alcoholics, etc).
Any SA book recommendations? Was planning on reading 50 shades of gray for water-cooler talk with the secretaries and paralegals.
And unless the bolded is sarcasm or a flame, it's probably not a good idea to engage in conversations with the secretaries/paralegals revolving around explicit depictions of BDSM.

Wear a suit. My firm's the same way, but I explicitly asked my associate contact and he said go with the suit.Anonymous User wrote:Thoughts on first day attire for a business casual firm that, while not as casual as say, Quinn, was on the casual side of business casual during interviews (non-NYC/DC.)
