I love you gdane, but sometimes your RC kills me. :D

Well, you're married so it would have been a moo point anyway

Same rejection for mecklenburg. Wondering what my issue is because I have ties there and 4 PD internships. Hmmm

ETA: I'm gonna laugh if they all interview the same 25 people and end up with job openings all over the place.

I think Miami dinged anyone by default if they didn't appear on a court record for a credit clinic. With all the applicants, it wouldn't make sense for them to actually go for anyone that doesn't fit 100% of their requirements. It's a shitty rule, but at least we can find solace in the fact that their office undoubtedly hates it as much as we do.

I took a criminal clinic for credit and appeared on the record last fall. Also did an externship which had me on the record in the spring. 5 more EJW places to go today. I know that the table talking is super helpful but if I don't get a single interview I am really going to be bummed.

Out at meck too. Only one opening though. So it's prolly not a big loss.

ETA: So far, looks like same slaughter as last year.

Thank God I live in DC. I would prob not bother to travel from far away just for table talks. My school has a PI fair in January. I wonder what the employment odds are there. I know that a bunch of PD offices that are not at EJW will be there.

Currently in the process of retooling my resume to look more crim defense friendly for these table talks.

PD applicant
Applied to 8 PD places. So far accepted 2 (one my top choice, other not so much) and rejected at 2 (Miami and Mecklenburg). I'm concerned because I have ties to NC and am CLI certified in FL. Hmmm......

For people who got post-grad job interviews, can you please post your stats?

The remaining employers have, what, like 8 hours left to get back to us?

At least the waiting will be over soon.

I have gotten only one interview. Turned down for four others so far. Applying PD jobs only. T2, top 25%, secondary journal, criminal clinics with court appearances. As in multiple crim related classes.

ETA: Also, multiple trial practice classes with mock trials. Also, multiple externships and volunteering at PDs offices.

New Hampshire just told me where to shove it. I'm actually really disappointed here. I really wanted to interview with them. I have the grades they wanted and all the PD experience and whatnot. Damn.

Let's all start a crim defense firm, preferably in a state with an easy bar to pass.

I'm in.

Built in bar in the kitchen? I don't want to give up my alcoholism unless I get selected for JAG.

Would love to, but good luck to me securing loans to start a business when I have $240,000 in nondischargable debt.

I still have four outstanding, and the sign-up for student interviews starts at 7 p.m. (and the deadline was midnight). So, if it's any consolation to those of us who didn't get what we hoped for, it seems that we have a lot of overburdened PDs trying to make these decisions on the fly. Which means we may have better odds with direct apps.
I struck out completely at EJW as a 2L, but got multiple offers for the summer, so it worked out OK. EJW is kind of a mindfuck.

Same, and I'm a 3L. I'm holding out hope for Legal Aid - still "requested." They're killing me.

Accept @ Brooklyn, Miami, West Palm Beach, Mecklenburg. Ding @ NH. Ding @ Bronx that later turned into an accept. I got a rejection email, but was able to sign up for an interview.
