Re: How to be a Prosecution/PD Gunner?
I just bombed a hypo during an interview
I think I got the wrong answer and my thought process was all over the place. I studied crim pro for the last few days to prepare but man the hypo really stumped me.
Kinda worried now because I dunno if I looked like a dum dum.

They're all going to decide and get back to us on Thursday. Maybe one or two will do something by Monday, but they'll be the exception.BlueLotus wrote:

Yeah, looked page 40-something ITT and see that that was the pattern last year as well.spleenworship wrote:They're all going to decide and get back to us on Thursday. Maybe one or two will do something by Monday, but they'll be the exception.BlueLotus wrote:

Real question: Do prosecutor's offices ask 2Ls questions with crim hypos when interviewing for 2L Summer positions? I mean, I'm taking crim pro right now but there's no way I could field a nuanced investigatory question without researching it.

I'm a 3L and I haven't heard of any 2Ls being asked hypos. You'll be there short term and they're not paying you so they don't care if you know your crim pro.

I'm a 2L and I was asked a hypo by a PD office. Only one, but they managed to throw it into a 20 minute interview.RaleighStClair wrote:Are you a 3L?gdane wrote:I just bombed a hypo during an interview

Also got a pre-select from Alaska PD, nice to know I'll have at least one interview.
Also dinged from PDS (Washington, DC) from my on campus interview with them for a 2L summer, via postal mail.

I think it would probably be nicer if you withdrew and gave other people a few more chances.Anonymous User wrote:just received a great offer for next summer and im going to accept, however, part of me is curious as to which ejw interviews i would have gotten, is it bad for me to wait until i see then withdraw or should i withdraw now

I put my clinic work as a separate entry under "experience," like any other student job, with some bullet points of stuff I did. I figured since we had the title "student attorney" I'd list it as legal experience.

This is what I do. Put it under experience. Like a jerb.A. Nony Mouse wrote:I put my clinic work as a separate entry under "experience," like any other student job, with some bullet points of stuff I did. I figured since we had the title "student attorney" I'd list it as legal experience.
On another note, WTF EJW employers?! Seriously, I'm dying here.

Re: How to be a Prosecution/PD Gunner?
Why do you think she hated you? Were there any indications, or was it just a feeling you had? Sometimes with prosecution interviews the idea is to make you feel like it's going bad to see how you respond. A lot of people come out of them feeling like they did poorly, when actually they did fine.Jessuf wrote:I just had my first prosecution interview, and it went horribly. The lady hated me so much that I never even got a hypo. I don't get why I was invited for an interview in the first place.
I'm doing a crim law clinic right now, and I just have a line on my résumé that says "Clinics: Criminal Law Clinic, Other Clinic" (I did another non-crim clinic last year). The interviewer never even noticed I was in a crim clinic until I brought it up. How do i make this clinic more noticeable? I always bring up my clinic work in the cover letter, but should I add a description to my resume too?
And some offices don't give hypos.
