Who would you hire?
Okay...put on your law firm hiring manager cap and tell me (honestly) who you would hire.
Two resumes....everything looks the same (regarding work, internships, etc) except only difference is that....
Resume #1 --> Graduated from a law school ranked 40ish, top 1/3 of class but no law review or moot court
Resume #2 --> Grauated from T3 law school, top 1/3 but has both Law Review AND Moot Court.
Who would you hire? (remember....everything else is exactly the same between the two)
Thank you!

Re: Who would you hire?
This is fuckin stupid, you can't decide who you'd hire without knowing more about them/meeting and interacting with said applicants

Re: Who would you hire?
My first instinct would be to look at the GPA/rank of each. They would be pretty much the same, so I would then look at the schools they attended. At that point, I think it would be easy to toss aside the T3 student because, given 2 students with identical rankings, the T1 will pretty much automatically take precedence over the T3. If the T3 student had the higher rank, then I would move on to additional factors to help figure out which one to toss aside. But given an identical rank? Its easy to pick the T1 student.

Re: Who would you hire?
Are these schools in the same area as the firm? I may be more incline to hire the T3 if a) that school was in my city and I knew what kind of lawyers they churn out (or I may be one of those lawyers...) while b) the school in the 40s is across the country or something.
I'm not usual a negative Nancy about this stuff, but this is a silly thread...

Not in this economy. They'll be thrilled to work for free.

Re: Who would you hire?
You have two posts, this is your second
This is your first (I'm saying this more for other people to realize your situation and give it real answers.)
I'm an 0L, but I keep seeing on TLS that LR and MC are more like tie breakers. School and class rank come first (In a vacuum i.e. regional preference aside)

My dilemma....If I have the possibility to transfer to UofA, should I? Hurts my chances of ever being on Law Review and/or moot court. Money is not an issue at this point. But I do plan to move back to the Southwest and most likely end up in Arizona or Utah.
Only issue is whether someone is better off graduating from a T1 school (let's just say still in the top 1/3 of the class) OR if they are better off staying at a T3 school and having done both law review and moot court?
HELP!

I didn't really think it was that bad. It probably happens somewhat frequently too.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately as a woman I have to deal with sexist assholes like that on a daily basis, so I have a tendency to take things like that a bit seriously.

Depends on who is hiring.
Studies show if female is hiring they will hire the unattractive female. They don't want better looking girls around.

The problem with bashing someone for what law school they go to is that no one gives a fuck.

How is that relevant to me fucking with you? I'm not really sexist, but getting a reaction out of you is just too much fun to let a little thing like being PC get in the way.

Re: Who would you hire?
If OP meant to ask about transferring then OP might look at the great information posted by Arrow on transferring, Arrow will often advise people as well.
I don't think that by asking who we would hire is the best way to figure out if you want to transfer. But it never hurts to apply to transfer to better schools, you don't have an issue until after you have been accepted.
If you have been accepted, I think the better school helps over a lower ranked school over Moot Court and Law Review options in terms of hiring. But I don't know all of the facts here, and I am not an expert, so I advise OP to peruse the transfer threads.
