Regional or International SA?

I am a 1L who was lucky enough to get SA offers at 1. a secondary market firm 2. biglaw (V50 international office). The regional SA pays really well. (2k/week) and the international one only pays very little - but I will still make it out of this summer with a little profit. (They cover airfare + living expenses).

Long term, I hope to practice international litigation in NYC.

Which one should I take and which one would be "more impressive" for 2L OCI?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Sweet choices.

I imagine the international biglaw job is the way to go. It seems more closely aligned with what you want to do after LS. Is there any reason to think the BigLaw firm wouldn't offer you back next summer?

Everything you are going to do at the international office is going to be transactional. Something to consider since you are interested in litigation.

I don't think the BigLaw firm would let me back next summer because I don't want to work in that office in the long-run. I wouldn't mind working in one of their US offices in the future, though. On the other hand, the regional firm has suggested that once I start building a relationship with their team, it's very possible that I could be invited back for my 2L summer. Does that change things?

What do you mean by "international litigation"? Do you mean representing foreign companies in US litigation?

If you want to be a US litigator, then the secondary market firm would probably be a good bet.
