2L Externship Question

Would it be completely fatal to a post-graduation job search (or to 3L OCI for that matter) to take summer school classes and do an externship in the Fall instead of the Summer?

Summer academic experience isn't going to offset work experience. Do something legitimately legal in the summer, even if you don't end up going to a prosecutor's office (I know at least Manhattan DA closes their apps in December), and aim to extern at a prosecutor's office in the Fall. And yeah, start applying for Fall gigs now.Anonymous User wrote:Just curious b/c prosecutors offices seem to be stocked up already and there are postings for Fall already on the job board. I could take a few more classes that could be useful for prosecution......I don't know.
When should jobless 2L's start sending out for the "3L OCI" stage?whydididothis wrote:Summer academic experience isn't going to offset work experience. From what I've seen so far, not many have post-graduation positions open for 2L applications. Government stuff will start popping up around the summer. If you're really that jobless and don't even have summer lined up, start looking for Fall and Spring now while looking for summer. I've already applied and interviewed for Fall judicial internships.Anonymous User wrote:When should jobless 2L's start sending out for the "3L OCI" stage?whydididothis wrote:Summer academic experience isn't going to offset work experience.
