DOJ Main office or USAO?
If you want to eventually be an honors attorney, does a 1L summer position at the main branch or at the USAO in DC look better/give you more leverage?

Re: DOJ Main office or USAO?
I'm assuming you are referring to DOJ Honors. If so, I asked this exact question to the lady in charge of hiring for the Criminal Division at DOJ and she said they have absolutely no preference either way. However, they would greatly prefer you choose one or the other (as opposed to anywhere else).

You have to rank your department for USAO and hope to get one of your top picks so no clue there. DOJ would either be federal programs or the civil rights division. Not really sure what division I want to do yet after I graduate though.
