networking event - go?
theres a networking event at my school and people from the office of the firm i'm going to be at this summer will be there. is it appropriate/beneficial go and say hi (good chance my interviewers will be there) or just introduce myself?

I don't think this would hurt too much. To be on the safe side, I would email the recruiting director just to ask if you can. I bet they would be happy to have you there. But you don't want to risk the chance that they do not want you to take face time away from the 1Ls (if I am reading this right, you are a 2L and this event is primarily being held for 1Ls).

i don't think its primarily for 1Ls - its a big networking fair with many employers in booths so its less formal...
