3.65 from UVa DC Thoughts?

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Jan 24, 2011 9:46 pm

Got 1L grades back: 3.65

What range of firms should i conservatively be applying to, in order to give myself the best opportunity to land a job in DC?

I'd obviously like to work for the best firm possible, but ensuring I have a successful OCI is most important to me.

You're only 1/2 there. Focus on Spring semester.

As much as I have heard, being a 1L and all, about the DC market... a 3.65 puts you in a great spot, but with the caveat that nothing is a guarantee in the DC market so bid wisely.

+1. Or, to quote Kenny Rogers, "you never count your money, when you're sittin' at the table . . . ."

Come ask us in May.
I know, come ask in May, etc. But, it'd still be nice to know the opportunities I'd see from that GPA range.

From that range, nothing is guaranteed in and nothing is out.... I think that's the idea.

Yup.

With a 3.65 you could end up anywhere from W&C/Covington to jobless.

Do well in spring, bid on some V15 NYC firms as a backup, and hope you interview well.
