Also, analyzing IP address is not as easy as you think, because IP addresses doesn't always necessarily distinguish between commercial and residential areas. Even if you work in a location that only has commercial buildings, you can just say that you're doing homework at your firm's office.

Has this thread seriously come down to whether or not the OP would get caught? At this rate, maybe the OP should spend their 3L spring semester distributing copyrighted DVD's via bittorrent, or perhaps consider hosting underage Russian porn sites. Either or these would be more lucrative and less risky than illicit Westlaw usage.

Some of the posters on this site are always good for a few laughs. Although I was probably like this too when I was a 0-2L.

Statutes and cases are easily searchable in other, non-proprietary ways. Try going to Google Scholar and the state legislature websites. If he gives you citations and just wants copies of the documents, easy money. If he wants you to perform legal research, it will be a little more difficult, but still doable.

You could also go to your law school's law library and do it the old fashioned way, which has the added benefit of padding your hours.

Finally, I think it would be a hard sell, even under the catchall ABA rule 8.4(c), to argue that violating the terms of service and/or copyright is an ethical violation.
