My heart just jumped out of my chest when I heard my phone ring... it was my husband. I think I need to get a grip.

Every time I get a call from a number I don't know, an "unavailable" or "restricted" call I just about pass out. Then I find its like the pharmacy or registrar... .

Re: DOJ Honors Program
Just the other day I got an "unavailable" call and I thought it was DOJ calling with an offer, and it turned out to be a gynecologist's office calling the wrong number.

The whole job search process has made me such a hostile person when it comes to answering the phone

Re: DOJ Honors Program
do you guys think that if your references were contacted you're a first round pick?

Re: DOJ Honors Program
I would guess so. At least in other fields I've had experience interviewing with, calling references is one of the last things HR did before an offer.Anonymous User wrote:do you guys think that if your references were contacted you're a first round pick?
But in all this, who knows?

Yes. My status changed sometime on Wednesday. Offers for my component have not been reported yet so I'm still holding out hope.Anonymous User wrote:

Also EOIR Honors. Checked today to find I'm a finalist. Haven't heard from any references yet. Reached out to one to let him know/find out. Still no offers out of Falls Church?

Not entirely sure. I know it was still "Selected for Interview" until this past Monday, and I was being really good (uncharacteristically so, for me) about not compulsively checking. It's also been a busy week, that might have something to do with it.Anonymous User wrote:did your status just change yesterday?Anonymous User wrote:Also EOIR Honors. Gah. I think it is increasingly looking like we will be waiting until Monday, at the earliest to find out more.
Le sigh.

Re: DOJ Honors Program
If you go to the community tab on Avue, a DOJ official says that the components were required to select finalists by the 17th, and on Nov. 18th she said all finalists had been selected, she just didn't know if all of them were visible on avue yet. I know EOIR had already posted finalists on the 15th.Anonymous User wrote:hmmm not sure if we bothered looking at the timeline here

Not sure if this helps or hurts, but I did hear of an offer from the Civil Division. Apparently the offer was actually made today which is better news for those waiting on the Civil Division than the post yesterday indicating all Civil Division offers had been made.
