I have an offer from EOIR and I accepted. How awful would it be to ask at this point if they have any remaining openings in other cities?

Any news if the hiring freeze AG Holder announced on 1/21 is going to affect those who have received offers? I accepted an offer/submitted background check material well before that date, but don't know what effect (if any) the announcement would have on me or anyone else in the same boat. Good luck to all.

Guys, what's generally the grade floor for DOJ if you want to be an AUSA right out of law school? At MVPBDNC would it probably be around top third or does it depend a lot on your overall resume and what office?

I think USAO's only hire clerks and don't consider 3L's.los blancos wrote:Guys, what's generally the grade floor for DOJ if you want to be an AUSA right out of law school? At MVPBDNC would it probably be around top third or does it depend a lot on your overall resume and what office?
Pretty sure there isn't a grade floor as my grades were mediocre at a school in the range you listed and received an offer (though not from the USAO component). Resume, background, and commitment to public service are pretty important.

What do you mean by mediocre? Bottom third?Anonymous User wrote:I think USAO's only hire clerks and don't consider 3L's.los blancos wrote:Guys, what's generally the grade floor for DOJ if you want to be an AUSA right out of law school? Outside of USAOs, most DOJ jobs are in DC, right?
I think I will have the other three . Thanks for the advice.

Guessing somewhere in the middle third though not certain as I don't have an actual rank. Most of the jobs are in DC though some components hire in field offices. Geographic info is definitely listed on the application.
Hope this helps and good luck.
