Any news if the hiring freeze AG Holder announced on 1/21 is going to affect those who have received offers? I accepted an offer/submitted background check material well before that date, but don't know what effect (if any) the announcement would have on me or anyone else in the same boat. Guys, what's generally the grade floor for DOJ if you want to be an AUSA right out of law school? At MVPBDNC would it probably be around top third or does it depend a lot on your overall resume and what office?

I think USAO's only hire clerks and don't consider 3L's.

Pretty sure there isn't a grade floor as my grades were mediocre at a school in the range you listed and received an offer (though not from the USAO component). Resume, background, and commitment to public service are pretty important.

Guessing somewhere in the middle third though not certain as I don't have an actual rank. Most of the jobs are in DC though some components hire in field offices. Geographic info is definitely listed on the application.

Got my EOIR finalist reject e-mail this morning. Congrats to all of those who received an offer.

Time to pursue other options...
