And for many firms, the deferral class was the only one they brought in. I'm guessing the actual number of NLJ250 jobs available was fewer than 4,000.

@ Nealric More than 25% of jobs listed from deferrals sounds like a pretty high number. Then again, I'm a 0L who gets information from online forums and websites regarding legal hiring.

I think it's actually a conservative estimate. The majority of my classmates from the class of 2010 with biglaw offers were deferred. Deferrals for the class of '09 were even more common. While deferrals were rare outside of biglaw, we are talking about NLJ 250 firms here.

Last year, about 1/3 of the associates in the NLJ250 were deferred...
