I got a screening interview. I withdrew so I don't know anything about the callback stage. I do not have any work experience, but I did graduate in the top 15%-20% at a t-20 undergrad and go to a t-14 law school. Based off this, it seems like your schools and grades may matter more than work experience.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know of other ppl in their schools who interviewed and how we're ranked to get that second round interview? Also, if ppl don't mind sharing, I'm curious about your work experiences?

I have a couple years of work experience, but nothing too exciting or law-related.

Re: DHS
Well they did say they want to extend offers by the end of the year... and there are only 6 more weeks 'til January... so I sure hope they'll do something in the next couple weeks.

I think he means the latter, but I havent heard anything either. Hopefully the fact that we havent been rejected yet means theyre still going to do more initial interviews.

Re: DHS
This was my post above. Sorry to say that "next round" did refer to the callback stage. I can't say for sure whether they're all done with initial interviews, but it seemed to me that they are. Probably best to contact them yourself to check for sure.Anonymous User wrote:Heard from the source that we'll hear about the next round in the next couple of weeks.

Quote="Saraswati"]Do you mean second round of initial interviews or second round callback interviews? Hope it's the former as I have heard nothing so far...[/quote]
sorry about the confusion herem totally meant callbacks. the reason why a 'no answer is good news' worries me is bc it seems like they are operating like a lot of the government agencies, where if you don't hear anything it means you haven't been selected. seems like they haven't even notified the initial round yet....

Re: DHS
Also to clarify, I posted the "no news is good news" remark. I was also talking about second round interviews, in that since no one has any news of second round interviews, they have likely not selected the candidates yet and therefore I am not rejected.
In regards to those who have heard nothing about even the initial screener, not looking good at this point. I suggest following up with the agency directly.

Re: DHS
Wouldn't it be really funny if the four of us posting here all ended up interviewing at the same time in DC? (I assume it's the same ppl posting)....
And no, no news. I'm getting super anxious, especially with all the holiday weeks coming up...Has anyone gotten rejections, and do we know if we find out EITHER way, or are those not selected left out to dry?

Re: DHS
That would be pretty funny.
I obviously don't want to be too specific about my communication with DHS, but about a week ago I heard from them that they'd likely let us know about callbacks "within the next couple of weeks." So while I would love to hear from them this week, it wouldn't surprise me if next weekend rolls around and we still haven't heard. I guess they'll have to make final decisions pretty quickly after callbacks.
Does anyone know if they're taking only four interns again?

I heard something was going to happen soon, then again I also heard that last year it took till March to get things sorted out... I do know that (If I make the cut) doing a CB mid finals will be brutal.
