Anyone have a callback there? Any tips or news of the firm to share?

(Spare me the "Enjoy dla piper" jokes)

I have a callback next week at one of their East Coast offices.

Most of what I've heard about the firm hasn't been completely positive, but hey its BigLaw. With no offers yet, I'll gladly take the job and the money (of course that is a two-way street) and then lateral out in a few years if its really that bad. I've never really been one to care about "prestige" or whether someone calls me TTT.

The whole mockery against dla piper is kind of ridiculous. It's a JOB, people. That pays $160K. You can poke fun at the firm morale and the layoffs and all that, but in the end, a law firm is a law firm.

I'm pretty sure people only say "ENJOY dla piper" ironically these days. There really isn't room for firm elitism anymore - obviously, if you get a perm offer at a market rate firm anywhere these days, you are one of the Chosen Few and are, basically, the man. Good luck OP.

I've never really understood why people knock on DLA - true its a big firm that was cobbled together by mergers, but it seems like that could be said of a number of other firms. What makes DLA worse, or is it just a matter of Vault ranking snobbery?
